Scottish chef Christopher Trotter brings a wealth of experience and passion to the kitchens at the 16th Century Myres Castle. Enjoy a fun and relaxed day in the luxurious setting of Myres Castle.

Develop your culinary knowledge in the Victorian Kitchen with cookery workstations for practical sessions. Each class begins at 10am with Coffee on arrival in the Drawing room and a brief of the day from Christopher. Start with a short demonstration of the first dishes of the day followed by hands on cooking linked to the demonstration.

Christopher concentrates on sourcing the finest of Scottish produce from all over the country, preparing and presenting it simply, to make the most of the natural flavours and textures. Christopher will provide lots of tips on buying local fresh ingredients and recommend excellent local & Scottish suppliers.

After the morning's practical work, enjoy a tutored tasting of wines followed by lunch in the Dining room.

Back to the Victorian Kitchen for an afternoon of quick recipes. A great way to increase your knowledge and confidence in the Kitchen. Finish off the day by 4pm bidding farewell with renewed confidence for simple, fantastic cooking.

Days are limited to a maximum of 8 participants ensuring personal tuition and guidance from Christopher. A full booklet of recipes is provided at the end of each Class along with a Myres Castle apron.

Christopher’s latest Cookery book “A Scottish Kitchen” in association with The National Trust for Scotland is also available direct from the author.

Day Classes £125 per person per class (£120 with Discover the Taste) to include all demonstrations, lunch, booklet of recipes from Class,Tour of Myres castle, Myres Castle Apron and tutored sessions. A full deposit is required to secure place(s). Payment is non refundable but is transferable to another date with at least 28 days notice.
